Physical/audiobook (Hoopla) - such a dramatic book with massive twists and turns throughout. The author really has a way with making the reader fall fully in love with the story giving one heart for the characters right before she shreds it with betrayal and loss
Willow and Gray’s story mostly completes for now leaving us while cherished character Margot is trapped in hell with Johnathan and Beelzebub.
The new sprayed edges special edition cuts out the original chapter 47 and epilogue leaving readers with even more unknowns to the ending story making the ending even less satisfying and an even bigger cliff hanger than previous editions.

Favorite Quotes:

“I could want to fuck him and plan to slit his throat all in the same breath, and maybe that was the best way to do it.” - Willow

“I was no stranger to going into terrifying situations alone, and in fact, it was where I found comfort. I could rely on myself, always. It was everyone else who constantly disappointed me. Every moment of every day, I stood alone when things got tough.” - Willow

“Absolutely not, I will not fuck the murderer.” - Willow

This one just did not do it for me like the first book did. The plot was thrown out the window in favor of spice. The little bit of plot that was there was great, but there was not enough of it. The characters felt a lot more one dimensional in this one versus how they were in The Coven.

Thank you to the publisher for my copy of the eARC. All thoughts are my own.

I liked the second book more than the first. I hated Gray, but by the end I loved him! I still don’t know if I really like Willow or not, but the last quarter of the book was a whirl wind of chaos and emotion that I was not ready for. I for sure need to know what happens next, how they’re going to help their friends and face the curse on them.

I’m going to hell for how much I am enjoying this series…and I’m certainly experiencing a hangover from this.

This book was definitely better than the first, though the first was still great. Lots more spice in this and whoof. There were times I needed a shower. The plot. The plot is chefs kiss. The twists. The turns. The betrayals. The manipulation. Yes freaking please. And idk if that’s because this is just my niche (dark, twisty, demonic/biblical). There’s just something so tantalizing about sympathizing with the Devil himself and watching this enemy to lovers, push pull, lusty relationship.

I did audio for this because the narrators are FANTABULOUS and I think truly immersed me into this book.

Can’t. Wait. For. The. Next. One. #freemargot #devilbaby

This wraps up this duet in a mind-blowing fashion! The story weaves a complex narrative, blending witchcraft, biblical elements, and fantasy to create an utterly engaging experience filled with unexpected twists. Character development shines in this book. Willow's path to self-discovery and Gray's transformation from self-serving to devoted are captivating. Their evolving relationship, from enemies to lovers, is a real highlight, especially Gray's intense, possessive love for Willow. Picking up where the last book left off, this book ties up some loose ends while introducing new questions. Themes of forgiveness and revenge are central, delivering an emotionally charged story. This conclusion is incredibly satisfying, leaving me eagerly awaiting Harper's next adventure.
