This Is Where We Talk Things Out was a quick read but one that moved quickly. From the start of the book, you can already feel the tension before the main character, Miller, and her cut out mother Sylvie. You, the reader, are the witness to an estranged and twisted relationship between mother and daughter! While this book is said to be grief horror, you get a taste of the pressure that comes with not wanting kids and a couple of other life decisions that hit close to home for me. If you read this, the last 10 minutes will have your jaw on the floor with the most perfect ending

i found this book to be extremely triggering and anxiety-inducing, but too short.

I feel like this could have been longer. The author built up the suspense well but I feel like it could have used a longer build up to really hit with some impact at the climax. The ending kind of fell flat for me, to be honest.

I loved the premise, I loved picking up the little easter eggs along the way, but it honestly just didn't feel super satisfying for me because it felt a little too rushed. Probably just my tastes in horror/suspenseful novels. I really enjoy the build of tension, and in a novella you can't really build the tension for too long or you run out of space.

Not mad about it, happy I read it, but I just personally didn't find it as gripping as I'd hoped it would be.
