Taylor and Jake are starting all over again in London.  Taylor is getting ready for the arrival of  their first child and trying to learn to trust Jake again after she discovered that he was having an affair.  They have moved from their home in California to Jake's old neighborhood in London in an effort to save their marriage.  With Jake gone all the time for work, Taylor is trying hard to make new friends.  She decides to join a local walking group.  During her first outing, she meets Simon - a nerdy computer programmer who lives with his homebound father.  As they arrive back from that first walk, Taylor also meets latecomer, Anna - also new to London, pregnant and looking for a friend.  Taylor immediately tries to latch on to Anna and make her her new best friend.  Within a few days of meeting Simon and Anna, Taylor receives an invitation from Sharon, a neighbor,  to join a brand new book club that she is forming with her friend, Caroline.  All of a sudden Taylor has 3 new friends, but all is not perfect in Taylor's world.

In addition to Taylor's story, we are given hints that one of Anna's new friends is not who he/she appears and has malicious intentions towards Taylor.  Someone is watching her, spying on her through her many social media posts, knows about her and Jake's marital problems ...  along with other things about Jake's past that even Taylor is unaware of.

Could it be Anna - who thinks that someone is watching her and who seems to have a warm/cold relationship with Taylor?  Could it be Caroline - the snooty friend of Sharon's who knew Jake in school?  Could it be Sharon - who Taylor is convinced is after Jake?  Or could it be Simon - who seems to be interested in Taylor as more than just a friend?

Annabelle Kantaria brings a psychological thriller in I Know You that will make you rethink the information that you put out on social media and who has access to you and your secrets.

I did like this book.  It did keep me guessing as I continued to question myself each time I thought that I knew had it solved.  I did, however, feel that the story came to a sudden, abrupt and convenient ending.

First of all: I’m so disappointed! I liked this book right until the last 2 chapters. And then… wow. And this is not a good wow.

I read a lot of so-called domestic thrillers nowadays, there are plenty of them. This one was promising. Taylor and her husband Jake moved from the States (California) to London suburbs, so she lost all of her relationships, no family or friends she could talk to in person, Jake travels all the time because of his work, so pregnant Taylor got lonely in their new home and her only connection to the outside world is social media. To make new friends, she joins a walking group and a book club, she meets Anna, Sarah, Caroline and Simon. But these friendships are complicated and it seems like everybody has secrets…

Although the characters are flat and stereotypical, and I found out the main twist around the third of the book, it didn’t bore me, it was a quick read, and I liked it. BUT. What the hell was that last 2 chapters? WHAT? This was such a lame ending…! It’s so disappointing. It’s rushed, sloppy, and way to easy. The ending ruined everything for me.

I enjoyed this thriller, particularly the way it presents technology and social media, and the usual reaction we all have to the digital world.

We are all aware of the dangers of sharing too much information about ourselves in social media, and yet... we all seem to think that 'we' are safe. Once you read this book, maybe you'll understand that you are, most certainly, not.

Fast and absorbing, this is a book easy to read and recommended to all those who like thrillers.

I received a copy of this book for free, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I Know You by Annabel Kantaria is the best type of thriller: creepy, addictive and full of unexpected and shocking twists. Taylor and her husband Jake have moved from the US to England. Jake had cheated on Taylor and their move to England was a fresh start for their marriage. Taylor is pregnant; while very excited about her pregnancy, she feels alone and desperate for friends as Jake often travels for work. Taylor quickly joins both a walking group and a book club and makes friends with a diverse group, including Anna, Caroline, Sarah and Simon. She bonds most with Anna, who is also pregnant and has a husband who travels most of the time for work. They quickly bond over their pregnancies and Taylor helps Anna with decorating her home, documenting their every move on social media. It is clear that each of the five friends have secrets, often resulting in some kind of discourse between them. As secrets are slowly revealed, it is clear that something malicious is afoot and disaster is inevitable.

The book is told from two POVs. The first is Taylor and the second is of a disturbed evil stalker. The stalker is not identified until late in the book but it is clear that he/she is intent on destroying one of the five's lives. By using social media, the stalker is able to watch their prey's every move.

I couldn't stop reading this and at the same time, I did not want it to end! My heart was racing the whole time and I kept trying to guess who the stalker was. Even after the target of the stalker was revealed, I still couldn't figure out who the stalker was from the remaining four characters. And even when the stalker was revealed, my guess to the stalker's motivation was totally wrong. By the time I reached the end, I was mentally exhausted but in the best way! As I reflected on the end, I realized that Annabel Kantaria had sprinkled clues to the identity of the stalker and his/her motivations throughout the book but those clues were so clever and subtle that I hadn't been able to piece them together! I thought the stalker's "weapon" of social media was brilliant. As someone who uses Instagram regularly, it totally freaked me out to think of how someone can ruin another person's life by simply following their every post.

I really enjoyed this book! Annabel Kantaria created a thrilling, creepy plot with characters that were unique, secretive, and all capable of being the stalker. The twists were shocking, the reveals were unexpected and the ending was crazy. I definitely need to check out Kantaria's other books because I loved this one!
