i loved the first book and i definetly love this one i love the character development of all the characters and yes idk i just really loved it. i would've finished it faster if i hadn't been busy.

"Sympathy is not what I want from you, Alosa."
This was such an amazing sequel. I was shook guys wow. I missed Alosa and Riden so much I was so happy to dive into their world again. This story was dangerous, alluring, adventurous, sexy, wild, action-packed, fun, fierce, and full of girl power. The author did some amazing stuff with this story and took it in ways I was not expecting. I screamed I laughed, I swooned, I did it all. There were twist and turns and deaths I was not prepared for. I love everything about this world and these characters. I would die if this duology ever became a movie because to see this adventure on screen would be amazing. Alosa is not the Lady Jack Sparrow because she is better. She is the daughter of the pirate king and siren queen and captain of an all-female crew minus a few guys. If you have not picked up book one I can not recommend it enough. This story will leave your head spinning and your heart pounding.

What I Liked
1) Plot
"The first step to feeling good is looking good, and I look like the royalty I am."
The story takes place two months after Pirate King ended. Alosa is after Vordan for his piece of the map so her crew along with her fathers fleet can sail for the Isla de Canta to get the treasure. Riden is all healed up and now apart of her crew and we meet her fellow crew mates. But then she learns a secret about her father that turns her whole world upside down and she must learn to really tap into her siren powers. In this, she learns that the oh so handsome Riden is the only one who can help her tame her wild beast. And cue a dangerous mission that has Alosa and her crew fighting for their lives and some kissing along the way. The plot picks up from page one with Alosa and her ladies killing Vordan's men and taking him captive. From that point on it is twists and turns that leave me just as shaken up as Alosa. The pace is a perfect match for this adventure and keeps me on my toes just like the characters. This was a real pirate story with no sugar coating. It has violence, death, gruesome moments, and deadly adventure.
2) Writing
"I'm here because when I tried to get into that rowboat with my brother, I realized the last thing I wanted was to be away from you...I'm here for you Alosa."
The writing was fantastic. Tricia is a fantastic author because I can feel the shift in certain aspects when you were meant to like when Alosa taps into her siren power. One of my favorite thing about her writing is how strong she writes the female characters. Alosa and her crew are respected by the men in her crew and they really take care of themselves. Also when she tackles some of those double standards it makes you scream HELL YEAH! The story is very vivid and has wonderful detail. She built a wonderful pirate tale that made me feel everything the characters feel. I felt heartbroken at certain deaths because I felt close to them. I felt myself blushing and shuddering when Riden was all romantic. I felt my pulse quicken when they had to escape dangerous situations. I felt it all and it was amazing.
3) Characters
"We are not kissing," he whispers. "I'm kissing you." His free hand slides around my waist, pressing me into him. "Your skin tastes so good."
This is such a badass strong female-powered book. Alsoa is as kickass as ever. She is powerful and super protective of her pirates and caring. Riden is brave, sexy, sweet, and such a kind-hearted man. But besides these two we met some other amazing characters. The pirate king was a horrible man but he was a great villain. The siren queen Ava-Lee was such a nice addition and meeting her and all the sirens were so nice. But the stars of the book besides Alosa and Riden was the female pirates. They all had such amazing personalities and kicked some major ass. Sorinda, Mandsy, Athella, Roslyn, Niridia, Radita, Lotiya, and Deshel; a few of the lady pirates we met that were just amazing. I also loved Enwen, Kearan, Wallov, and Deros; the male pirates who respect the girls greatly.
4) Romance
"That's twice I've been honest with you, Alosa. Twice I've made myself vulnerable to you. That's supposed to go both ways."
Dead. They left me dead. Alosa and Riden are sexy, alluring, delicious, and filled with snarky banter. I loved how amazing this relationship is because it was not the focus of the story but it was enough to get my heart racing. At first Alsoa worries, Riden only wants to do what she did to him which was getting close to him for her own gain. But, she soon realizes the handsome man just wants her. But our sexy heroine is not so easily swayed and that makes for some sexy moments. One of my favorite things is how the author turns the tables with them. It is Alosa who is emotionally closed off and afraid to let Riden see her true heart and Riden whore bares his whole heart for her over and over. He really just wants her lol. My favorite moments were on pages 145, 184-187, 194, 269-270, and those lovely last few lines of the book.

Just like book one the sequel is just as delicious piratey! Riden and Alosa are just as sexy and make my heart pound especially the words Riden says to her. I also really love that it’s one of those books that what the premise says we get right away and I’m not waiting for 300 pages before we get to the heart of the story. Will always love this duology so much.

This book, like its predecessor, was brilliant! The book starts a few weeks after the events in season one, and this one is more action packed than DotPK. The action starts right off the bat, and it also managed to pack in some plottwists I did not anticipate. I really like the character development in this novel, though I did find it a shame the way Draxen was basically dismissed in this book. I would have enjoyed it if a bit more time would have been spent on nicely finishing his story. All in all, I really loved this story and I am a bit sad that this was the final book, though the story was finished in a very satisfying way.

"You can't be serious. Kearan has the emotional depth of a clam."
"For the last damned time, Mandsy, I don't want any water! I just spent the last ten minutes coughing it out of my lungs."
