Titan

Romancing His Stone #1

Authour Jillian Graves

“I told you I want to take care of you tonight, baby girl. Now, are you going to let me do that?” “Yes…” Daddy."

“If you say you’re fine one more time, baby girl, I’m going to spank your ass red every night for a month.”

Of course, I would read Titian after falling in love with Blood Moon! I was not disappointed.

Julianna Novak is struggling to pay bills and keep up with her lavish life because of her shady manager who took everything from her. So she is looking for a new sugar daddy to help her out of this predicament while still having her independence. So when the wealthy businessman Titan offers her an opportunity of a lifetime how could she say no? But Titan is more than he appears.

Is she ready to open her mind up to what Titan can offer her or will her independence be more important to her in the end? Because he is offering to be the Daddy she needs, but can she give herself over to him completely after everything she has been through?

Titan is a Gargoyle with a mission. She was only supposed to be a job for one night and nothing more but why is she slowly becoming the most important thing to him? He’s even starting to put her first before the mission he’s been devolved to his whole life to. With so much stacked against them can Titan and Julianna find something more than just one night together?

Ahh! These two I just love their story it was an emotional ride and I was all here for it. The spicy between these two and who doesn’t love a Daddy Dom? Monster Romance is slowly pulling me to the Darkside and I’m loving it. I’m looking forward to Rook’s story next.

I really wanted to like this book, I mean it has so many of the things I love: monsters (gargoyles in this case), world building, found family, cinnamon roll hero who will do anything for his love interest.

But the FMC was simply too spoilt and downright mean to the MMC - I mean she had LOADS of problems that she required a sugar daddy for, and when her arrives and wants to solve ALL her problems she gets mad at him.

IDN, I just couldn't get into Julianna, which was a pity because I really liked Titan and wanted to know his story. I just couldn't sit through Julianna to get there

This book basically feels like it was written for millennials who grew up watching gargoyles cartoon 😌 and I mean that in the best way. Aspects of this book made me think about Galieth and his brothers . But the high rating of this books comes from the strong establishment of story, character flaws and character personalities. It's rare that I like both MCs in books but I liked julianna and Titan. And woven into all the spicey scenes, readers actually get layers and character arcs. Fun read. Interested in other books by this author.

It’s a hard balance in a monster romance to make the book more than just p*rn but not bogging it down in too many details. I don’t think the author found the right balance here. I think the magical plot became more important than the romance but the author wanted to write the smut more. The consequences of the magical conflict seemed way more important and necessary to deal with than their relationship but at the same time never felt detailed enough for my investment. So while the couple deals with their relationship, you question if that’s the most important issue at hand but also it’s the most interesting part of the book so you don’t want to move away from it. Overall it was fun, I will probably read more of the series, but it isn’t as all consuming as other monsters romances have been for me.

I wanted to try out a ddlg again, it seems like a win, but something still puts me off. Anyway, no shade to acquisitiveness, no shade to sw, but when the brand names started to roll in, I was out completely. It fits the characters and story, but I have too much capitalist, hyper-consumerization resentment to just accept it as the wish fulfillment it is.

Not into the "daddy" bits. At all.
