✨”For tolerating the smiles and touches of others, it may have occurred to me that I should rip your still beating heart out of your chest. I could hold it in the palm of my hand before your eyes, just to remind you who it actually belongs to."

Malcolm touched his brow to hers, the base of his antlers bumping against her hair. "If that isn't the most romantic thing a woman has ever said to me, may the stars fall from the sky right now."

I won't lie, after his appearance with Rain, I was so excited to see that Malcom got his own book. I absolutely loved him exactly as much as I thought I would. Between him and Solis, I was a goner.

While I liked Hrafn, she's not my favorite fmc in this series. Her familiar might have been, though. Ezra was so much fun.

Super shout out to the cameos. It's so much fun seeing glimpses of everyone, and let's be honest, the real mvps of this series are Susan and Margot.

As per all the books in this series the mates have to work through internal struggles to end up where they need to be.

Hrafn is an ancient vanir that had lived too long without interacting with people on a regular basis. She has scared the humans that live around her which brings Malcolm to her cottage.

Malcolm is lonely and throws himself into meaningless encounters trying to hide from himself until he meets Hrafn and wants to keep her.

Together they can find happiness if only they can get over the hurts from the past.

I loved they way they help each other find themselves and were willing to let each other go if needed so they could be truly free.

We see some familiar faces from previous books as well.

Fun, sexy read that shows you can stay true to yourself and still find happiness.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Edit re audio book. I love the dual narration and the way the banter comes through.
It was fun to listen to and kept bringing a smile to my face.

3.5 stars, audiobook read! I think I may have enjoyed this book slightly more as a physical read vs audio, as the male narrator wasn’t my fave! But still overall really enjoyable :)

In classic SL Prater fashion, this book is cozy and fun and spicy! I loved the different take on a shadow daddy (as well as the sweet lil shadow babies!) and thought Solas was such a great addition to the story.
