Simon is by far my favorite. He and Meredith are extremely entertaining and definitely hot. This is also the first story where it wasn’t ready-made family trope, and I didn’t think I’d like that. But it absolutely made sense with the story, so I’m not mad about it. We also got to see a lot more interaction between the guys in this book, which I really enjoyed. That was probably because we didn’t have a child, but in someways it worked better because I got to know some the new characters, along with getting to revisit some of the old characters.

Simon is written like a robot and Meredith is just disgustingly self obsessed. The hate between characters without any interactions to build a connection between the two is just annoying. It felt like coming into a conversation between two others and only catching the end of a story that plays an important part in all future conversations.

The dubcon is seriously hot, but there is so much misogynistic bs happening, like women needing men to protect them and accepting stalking as proof of love and devotion

This is an action packed thrilling enemy to lovers romance. With a mafia type setting.

Meredith is a smart cunning woman that is also very naive. Simon is a germaphobe computer genius that is buff and badas$.

Meredith gets herself in a jam and has to seek help from her brother Mathew aka lucifer. What happens when you take a rebellious smart mouthed woman and toss an uptight germaphobe man together. Do they clash or will something ignite?

This was a great read I couldn't put it down. It was so gripping and kept me on my toes.

Violence, obsession, possessive character, death, and spice..Oh my the spice. There are some weird danger kink scenes just fair warning.

Such a great read though.... definitely recommend

I'm always intrigued with how authors handle stalker behavior and how they try to make them charming (You by Caroline Kepnes will always be fantastically well executed), which is why I decided to read this book. I also knew that the breeding kink was involved, which is a total turn off and I totally have issues with it, but I tried to keep an open mind to not have that totally affect my rating.

However, there were so many things wrong that I personally don't like and frankly find appalling:

- The reader is pretty much cheated from seeing when and why Simon became obsessed with Meredith. It was the simple, "I've been watching you for five years and I became obsessed" cheap copout of development. We possibly get an idea from his favorite recordings of her but still it was not executed as interesting as I wanted it to be.
- Simon was a let down, and honestly not sexy at all. He was super controlling and overprotective. His total disregard to her actual needs just because he believed he knew what was best for her, obviously that was to establish his psycho behavior, but it was a total no for me. Meredith didn't even know why she actually liked him other than having power over him from his devotion. It was just gross.
- Then the bullshit message at the end where Matthew (her step-bro and Simon's boss) tells her women can't survive in a man's world without a man protecting her blah blah blah. There were just so many gender stereotyping and toxic masculine mentality moments/ideas that I was just not for it.
- Is almost everyone freaking blonde with blue eyes? I swear almost every side character had those two traits.
- Also, is Meredith really not going to have any real freedom other than going to and from the compound and Simon's house? How can she settle for so little?!
- Lastly, the amount of grammatical errors shows the lack of editing. Chapters 3 and 4 were switched so I was very confused for a moment.

I could go on, but I don't have the time or patience. This book is just not for me even with an open mind.

I gave it a two because I regarded everything with a grain of salt, the sexy parts were good, and the dark moments were actually freaking dark and not some mild brutality I find in most "dark" romances.

Alpha male meets alpha female...they both win

Breaking Meredith is and isn't what you think it will be. Yes, Meredith is willful and a spoiled brat doing whatever she wants, but she thinks she is so much better than her stepbrother who a criminal. Simon's personality unfolds over a good part of the book. But needless to say, he's not the unfeeling Spider everyone thinks he is.

I'm not a fan of dark, criminal element, heavy violence plots, but that's not a big part of this book. This book is more character driven and as we learn more about Meredith and Simon and they learn more about themselves the romance takes precedence. A twisty tale, this story is perfect for a summer read.

It took a while for me to get into this story, as all I could think about was clawing Meredith’s eyes out. But, once we got past that hurdle holy hell! It was super hot! I mean, panty melting, where’s my boyfriend I need him now hot! I love Simon, there is far more to him than you first realise. I wasn’t a huge fan of kidnap/hostage stories but this one has me changing my mind
* I received an arc and am leaving an honest review*
