Ach, jaka to jest zgrabnie zrobiona książka. W porównaniu do Szukszyna to oczywiście niebo a ziemia, ale jako szybkie czytadło z fajnymi bohaterami, spoko intrygą i w ciekawym (acz nienachalnym, to nie są "Kłamstwa Locke'a Lamory") światem sprawdza się doskonale. Jak to u Abercrombiego bohaterom dzieje się krzywda i w każdej chwili mogą zginąć, co pozwala na budowanie napięcia i wciągającej intrygi. Komu się podobało "Pierwsze prawo" niech sięga i po to, bo mimo innego zestawu bohaterów (chociaż jest Cosca <3 ), to więcej tego samego.

Na minus: tłumaczenie. Nie jest jakieś koszmarnie złe, ale brakuje mu lekkości i swobody tłumaczenia trylogii Pierwszego Prawa, no i pozmieniano przydomki/frazy które się tam powtarzały, co mnie nieustannie raziło.

No i bohater, co traci oko niespecjalnie się tym przejmuje, wstawia sobie protezkę i heja - a to tak nie działa, utrata oka to jest bardzo poważna sprawa.

Joe Abercrombie is becoming one of my favorite authors. An excellent spinoff of the original series. Unsurprisingly, this is a very dark book - most of the comic relief characters from the First Law Trilogy are mostly absent. The book still finds its humor, and of course there is plenty of action.

Again - unsurprisingly, I feel like this book is a study of what revenge at all costs would look like, and what the ramifications would be for everyone involved. Suffice to say it was an entertaining journey and I’m glad I took it.

4'5 ⭐ (aunque cuestionándomelo muy mucho).

“En ocasiones, la gente cambia para mejor. Y en otras para peor. Y con frecuencia, con mucha frecuencia, si el tiempo y la oportunidad lo permiten...se vuelve a ser como se era antes.”

¡Me ha encantado! Monza tiene todo mi corazón y mi amor, a pesar de que podría matarme antes de pronunciar su nombre. Pero, de verdad, este libro me ha chiflado. Si bien es cierto que hacía la mitad del libro sufrí un bajón por lo demandante y ridículamente largo que es (y porque no tenía tiempo para leer y me daba la sensación de que no avanzaba), después volvió la acción y esa forma de narrar de Joe Abercrombie que te atrapa y...bueno, el resto fue historia.
