Before starting college in the fall, Sadie, Darcy and Rosanna are offered the ability to live in New York City early at a college provided apartment. Sadie is going through a city planning internship, Darcy is catching up on summer classes (since she took a year off before starting college), and Rosanna is working with a summer camp. Each girl has a unique back story and set of baggage, but somehow they come together and make each other better. Each girl is treated to her own love interest, some work out well and others not so much. It is your typical fluffy summer novel and totally cheesy.
I wasn’t so much a fan. The characters were shallow (in most aspects of the word-the author tried in this area, but it didn't work for me). I couldn’t get into it and won’t be finishing the series.

Let's just say that this book is the reason I don't read romance books, or love stories. They're cheesy, so unrealistic and just so predictable. There's no originilaty. First of all, I want to go on record to say I'm in a happily, loving and committed relationship, and have been for the past six years. I have nothing against love. If anything, I love love. I love being in love. With that said, I just think love stories are so... blah. I can do cheesy, I'm OK with cute, fluffy reads (or movies), but sometimes, maybe it's the author's writing, but sometimes the romance cam fall short of sweet and then it becomes boring and over the top corny. It took me so long to read this book that I actually regret finishing it. I contemplated DNFing this book but wanted to give this author a chance since I own a few more of her books, but it was so hard to focus and so hard to get into the story when the plot line was all over the place! In no way am I bashing the author, I will be giving her other books a try, I think this more of my personal problem towards romance stories. It's hard to sweep me off my feet and make my heart skip a beat or get me to be this mushy person (I swear, I'm a great gf, hahahah) but this was a difficult read. I couldn't relate to any of the characters, and the story ended just as two characters were in the middle of a conflict and I'm not sure whether that was an intentional cliffhsnger, not that it matters since the storyline was so wacky, immature and so bland to start with. If you're looking for a romance with an early teenaged mentality, this is the book for you.

Colasanti delivers another fresh, fun romance in City Love. The novel alternates chapters with first person narrations from Sadie, Darcy, and Rosanna. At the start of the novel all three girls are at a crossroad waiting for things to happen and their real college lives to begin.
Each girl also has a secret--something they are running away from, coming to terms with, or hiding from--that they withhold from each other and the reader. This trope, which sometimes can only lead to frustration, is handled well in City Love where readers are ultimately rewarded with answers by the end of the novel.
City Love presents a shiny, elegant version of New York filled with fancy restaurants and expensive stores that locals might not often seen. The novel itself is imbued with Colasanti's abiding love for New York and evocative scenes of popular destinations like the High Line and Union Square.
Set during the course of one tumultuous week for the girls, City Love is an exciting story of romance, new beginnings, and taking chances. This book reads as a contained story with a satisfying conclusion for most plot threads although hints of what's in store for Sadie, Rosanna and Darcy will leave fans eager for the next installment.
City Love is a great choice for readers looking for a stylized version of college life with all of the freedom finally being an adult affords. An ideal choice for contemporary romance fans as well. Recommended.

This is the second book of her's that I've read recently and I didn't like either of them. I think I just don't like her writing style. Idk.
