I felt touched by his relationship with his mom, and laughed out loud about many of his childhood stories. I feel another installment is needed to understand how he ended up in his career.

I listened to Trevor Noah read the book and I highly recommend it. He is animated and an interesting narrator. The story is well-told and explained a lot about South Africa's apartheid system that I hadn't understood before.

Learned a lot about growing up under apartheid (much worse than I thought and I thought it was awful) as a mixed-race child. Some stories are really funny; others simply heartbreaking. Trevor Noah is a remarkable young man to have overcome poverty/racism/etc to become one of the best known comedians in the world...but he was raised by a remarkable woman. This is really a son’s love story for the first woman he loved—his mother.

Witty look into Noah’s childhood and family life. A cutting commentary on international issues of systemic and systematic oppression + beautiful and clever and funny. Couldn’t put it down.
I’d give this or excerpts to sophs+ in a heartbeat.
