This book was decent it’s not my favorite out of the series, and I think that’s mainly because the romance between steel and stone was not jumping off the page. I feel like this book was mainly a set up book for the rest of the series since the problem that once was Donavan Lancaster gets dealt with in this book. The last chapter of this book holy hell was something else and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series to see what will happen.

This Is how like my MC romance. Theree Is a grittiness and touch of darkness to it that keeps my focus. Even though this is Steel and Stone's story there are a lot of previous characters and their perspectives. This is an ongoing backstory with everyone invested.

I cannot wait to see what happens next.

ETA: just finished listening to the audiobook and the hospital scene was EXACTLY how I heard it in my head when I eyeball read it. i loved the narrators and I honestly felt like I never read the book before. I was so engrossed in the narration & how they brought the characters to life. it was so great. loved it!

steele & stone

***there are triggers for this whole series. please look up content warnings and trigger warnings, serena does let you know there are triggers and lists some of them in the beginning of her books. we love that.***

ok hear me out. i loved this book. but i wanted to punch steele in the damn head so many times. he put stone through so much and i wanted to drop him so many times. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i wish i could. I WISH I COULD.

we learn in this book why steele pushed stone away, which i get. he thought his blood was tainted and he saw the potential of stone having a life far away from the mc and wanted that for her. stone is a doctor. YUP THATS RIGHT. sis is educated. you will revisit their past and see what they both saw as one pushed away the other and as they both hurt. but when they reunite, stone has already accepted that he doesn't love her and steele has accepted that he can't live without her. so what happens? just read to find out :) like the other books in this series, this isn't a standalone but there is a HEA for the couple.

Stone and Steel *Spoiler*

Had to almost lose her to figure out how important she was to him.
Stone loved Steel no matter what. First crush, first love, hard to move on. Steel thinking he was doing her a favor pushed away and tried to break her heart. What an idiot! They were always on each other’s mind and fought like cats and dogs but when he came really close to losing her to death, that was what it took.
I loved how just because Steel decided that he wanted Stone she didn’t just roll over for him. She made him work for it. All the time he pushed her away when he could’ve had her but it took death to wake him up. I love how Serena didn’t write her as a helpless female. I know we met and saw how Stone and Steel interacted together in the previous books but really finding out the whys of their story was so bittersweet. I’m happy that because he had to work for her that her appreciated her more. We’ll done

I think I might love Steel more than I love Sin! Stone and Steel had an unconventional love story. I wasn't sure how much I would like this story line but I loved it. Steel put a lot of pressure on himself to be better than his past because of something he thought condemned him to the same fate as his sperm donor. Honestly, if a little communication had been involved, a lot of Stone and Steel's turmoil could have been avoided. Speaking of Stone, I loved her! She was tough. She wanted better for herself as well. She wanted to be better than the environment her momma brought her up in. And I think she accomplished that! She is a nurse and loves what she does. She also helps out the MC when they need a doc. I just loved reading about the resistance between the two of them. They made things so difficult for themselves at first. But things have a way of working themselves out. Stone was fierce and Steel was passionate. And I actually really loved them together. I wish I could have more of them!!
