Another great reread. Not sure if it’s a 4 or 5 (probably 4?) so I’m not gonna rate it yet but I just love this series so much.

So while I enjoyed this volume... I'd forgotten (or repressed) the way this series handles female characters. First we've got Ray Penber being like "don't worry you pretty little head about Kira, you're no longer an FBI agent. Also we're getting married, and you're going to pop out babies that'll make you busy and shut you up" to his fiance. Then when she disappears and L looks into it he's like "oh it's just a woman what would she know, but she did get pretty high up in the FBI... oh wait! I've worked with her, she's somehow a little intelligent". Then again this is really just a series about a bunch of arrogant dudes with fragile egos fighting each other, L and Light being the worst ones.
