As a soon to be beginner gardener, this book is a great resource, even though I'm not in the UK. It is simply and well explained enough that I am confident it will be easy to adapt to the hotter climate of Portugal. A great amount of tips and tricks, as well as some plans to get you started towards vegetable paradise.
Can't wait to get my hands in the soil!

i wish it had even a single fruit option for growing in amongst the veg and i think huw wildly over estimates the amount of ppl who have room for a 3 metre wide raised bed in their garden but this has been really helpful to me and given me tons of ideas about how to use the space i have. the colour coded diagrams of the bed were also v useful well done etc

Fair enjoyed reading this, although there's not really a huge amount to it and it does feature a bit of repetition. A neat structure I'd like to follow, with alternative options as well. I might try several. I keep referring back to this in fact.
