All I can say is that I like this book. I enjoyed reading it. The first half was like some sort of build-up for the second half, where Cujo actually attacks the main characters. The story felt very real; the characters were complicated and had some layers. I think that King described Donna pretty well as her pure desperation to save her son hit me quite well. Good job

He was SUCH a g’boy…. until he wasn’t.

I enjoyed this book very much. It started out sloooooow, but I figured King would turn it around and he did. By the last half I never wanted to put it down.
This book is nearly 400 pages long and if you’re expecting/hoping for it to be all vicious dog attacks, just don’t read it. A lot of backstory of different characters which I mostly enjoyed (I could have done without the extensive details into the advertising background, SNORE!) Incredible how King describes them and the ways their lives wove into each other with small mistakes, choices, instincts and signs ignored… so many seemingly insignificant moments that developed into a horrific tragedy.
This is my 2nd King book and I liked it way more than The Shining but I can see why someone might not love it like I did … the fact that there are NO CHAPTERS being at the top of the list. Every paragraph you have to figure out whose head you’re in! Maybe he did that to keep us alert so we didn’t sleep through Vic & Roger’s story.
