4.25 Stars.
Wow! That was good and I could not put it down. The story of Philo against Katie "The Hammer"(That's how I'm calling her) was a mesmerizing, dark and evil adventure to follow. What people were (are still) capable of doing just for money but, at the end, it won't never make them really happy,for me, that was the main point of the story. Also, we understand that the author underlined the importance of having a family in the story, whoever you are, rich or poor, good or bad, sane or mad.

BTW, do not go to fortune tellers, it never ends well.

Michael McDowell est un maître dans l'art de faire naître une atmosphère. Ici, elle est inquiétante, glauque voire gore à certains moments.

Ce roman se lit aussi rapidement que la saga Blackwater. L'écriture est fluide, les personnages intéressants et le suspense insoutenable.

La dualité entre Philomena et Katie est saisissante. L'une est douce, serviable et gentille. L'autre est une sociopathe sans coeur et une medium sans foi ni loi.

Je salue le travail de la maison d'édition Monsieur Toussaint Louverture qui a, à nouveau, fait un travail fabuleux sur cette couverture. On sent une réelle qualité de l'objet livre qui n'est pas pour me déplaire.
