Characters: 7/10
I appreciated the diversity in characters, and enjoyed their interactions between eachother.
Atmosphere: 8/10
Definitely atmospheric, the author did a good job here, I apparently just don't vibe with MC and mer themes.
Writing: 7/10
Writing was pretty good, enjoyable to read.
Plot: 6/10
I've only seen one episode of Sons of Anarchy, and could pretty much predict what would happen in this. Would have loved more of a twist than just the mer aspect.
Intrigue: 5/10
I finished it just to finish. Again, if you're into MC war drama you'd probably be far more invested than me.
Logic: 6/10
I still dont understand how the bikes work (like I know it's "magic" but what does it look like? Do the wheels spin? Does it make a sound? Give me details) or what they look like when shifted (I know they have scales and gills from a brief mention but like .. what else? What colour? Do they have legs or fins?) .That might be me being a dummy or zoning out while reading but these were cool aspects that I feel deserved more page time!
Entertainment: 6/10
It was a decent time, some of the scenes were pretty hot, and I felt the characters worked well together. Again, taught me I'm not a fan of MC or mer themes.
Total rating: 6.43/10

📝 Alternaing 1st Person POV; Pansexual Characters; Why Choose Romance with Sword Crossing; Available on KU
There were just so many things about this book that I loved, but the strength of Queenie’s character definitely sets her apart from other romances.
Read this book if you enjoy:
🐙 Why Choose Romance with sword crossing
🐙 Swoon worthy men/shifters in a MC
🐙 Characters that are vastly different but complement one another
🐙 Found Family
🐙 A woman that can save herself, she doesn’t need a man
Graphic: Sexual content and Violence
Moderate: Child abuse

I didnt particularly like or relate to any of the characters. Queenie was alright but there was not a lot to her character. I think the author tried to add depth to her character at the end but it just didnt work. Similarly, there was nothing really great about the guys. Queenie's connection with them didn't seem realistic and they would just randomly start going it at without any real reason. It just didn't make sense. Usually in a reverse harem, each guy has a different personality and brings something different to the relationship. However that wasn't really executed here.
When I was reading this book, I kept getting reminded of Den of Vipers because a lot of the character in this book were similar to the character in DOV. However, DOV was way better, but it was also much longer and I think that gave the author more time to develop characters and the overall relationship between the main characters.
