Claudia Gray is absolutely my favorite author writing Star Wars right now (not to say there aren't other amazing authors, I just enjoy her work that much).

I went into this book with high expectation, both because of her past work, and because growing up I adored the (now Legends) 'Jedi Apprentice' series that was all about Qui-Gon and young Obi-Wan. It was everything I wanted it to be, not only with the focus on Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, but the sub-plots and other characters were also compelling and made for a neat mystery to think about too.

This was the first Star Wars book I ever read since I just recently gained an interest in the Star Wars fandom.
The beginning was a bit of a slow build for me, but it picked up and ended up being a really good book in my opinion. I definitely enjoyed the 'After' section, and would recommend this book to anyone interested in Star Wars. Old fans or new.

Possibly one of my favourite star wars reads so far.

The films portrayed obi wan and qui gon at odds with eachother on key concepts and beliefs, this prequel really shows the origin and how they learnt to be effective together with their differences.

Voice actor was phenomenal and really did make it sound like Liam neeson and Ewan McGregor!!

Absolutely no business being as good as it is.

This book takes place before the events of The Phantom Menace. Qui-Gon and Obi-Won have a unique teacher and student relationship which was different than I expected. Flashbacks into Qui-Gon’s own training show why prophecy is so important to him.

3.5 stars, really. There are things I really liked about this novel but overall I didnt connect with it like I hoped I would - like I have with Claudia Gray's other Star Wars novels.

(More review to come.)
