While this wasn’t necessarily insightful or profound, I really enjoyed the stories and themes throughout it.

I found myself rolling my eyes a lot while reading this book—at the characters, at the story, at the way Wolitzer describes things, at the way the book tries to be contemporary and urgent but utterly fails to do so. The story certainly didn't live up to my expectations (which, truthfully, were based pretty heavily on the cover, which I fell in love with).

this is a very well written book that aspires to dive deep into the effects of feminism across multiple generations of women. It tries to praise while also critiquing the ideology but sometimes it gets lost in its own style points.

the alternating POVs were engaging at first, but near the end it started to get confusing and tangential. The book shined when it focused on Greer & Cory and how we grow in and out of peoples’ lives (and also how we cope with grief, growing up, and more).
