this isn’t a book that you should look to to learn things about life or people. People aren’t destined to be or act a certain way because they were abused. It isn’t okay to excuse rape for love. Etc. Young impressionable readers, don’t internalize anything about this book.Graphic: Child abuse and Rape
Moderate: Self harm and Suicide
Minor: Drug use

However, I do wish Abel had been given his own POV sections or something. The mysteries around his character was pretty much the only thing getting me through the story, but

Same goes for subsequent revelations: they didn't exactly fall flat, but the impact was a little blunted by learning about them through Anna's dreamy, rose-colored glasses.Graphic: Rape, Suicide, and Sexual assault
