This was an excellent sequel to Beasts of Prey! The book picks up immediately where we left off and both Ekon and Koffi undergo journeys that really bring out so much of their character. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the flashbacks and everything clicking together for me. In addition to the character development, the world and the magic also expanded and I really like the direction it went in! Super excited to see more of it in the next book.

And the new characters??? I LOVE THEM YOUR HONOR. I have theories for the next book and I hope I’m correct! The ending is what did it for me, it was so intense and I was getting STRESSED and I would like book three immediately please and thank you! Another work of art from the genius Ayana Gray.

I received an arc of this title in exchange for an honest review.

I actually liked this one more than the first. I enjoyed getting to meet all of these new characters. It made it refreshing and entertaining. I do feel like these books are a bit slow but doesn’t take away from how much I loved this book.

Will definitely be reading the 3rd book

I’ve really thought that would be more fun creatures in this!?

I’m so sad that Koffi and Ekon have been separated and are lowkey feeling other people - not sure where this will go.

I wish there was more romance, but I saw the author say that’s not the focus, soooo…

Koffi and Safiyah are bad bitches - love a badass FMC. I’ll be pissed if her grandma is actually dead! I don’t think she is.

The gasp I GUSPED at the Elon mum reveal! WILD.
