The final line was probably one of my favorites of this series.

A wonderful addition to this adorable series. I loved getting more of the vampires and character building in this one.

It seemed odd however, how Sylvia treated Lucy after she forced her to wear the jewels and I was seriously annoyed at Lucy for the choices she made.

It was very out of character for her to travel alone to meet some random guy. Just a note on that one but it is the whole story.

I want more William. And Henri.

Still don’t care for her choice of going with Rafe. Ian is great.

The last line had me giggling.

This was excruciatingly boring. So far, the worst story in the series.

My biggest issue with this installment, aside from the usual complaints, is Silvia's behavior.  Not just the fact that she behaved that way, but that everyone seemed to let her - including Lucy.  And I know
Lucy felt a little guilty for the theft of the jewels, and did finally stand up for herself, so that was good
, but the fact that everyone was just like,
give Silvia some space until she gets over being angry instead of really calling her out on her b.s. was super annoying.  I mean, Rafe sort of half-heartedly did, and at least Rafe and Gran were both clear where their loyalties lay, but I was still so annoyed with her treatment of Lucy the entire book.

I mean, Lucy did want to parade around in the jewels, and was hesitant about the whole thing, and then Silvia forced her to learn how to stand and walk and parade herself so that the jewels stuck out.  Ugh.  The whole thing was just annoying.

Ok - so aside from all that...

Yay more vampires!  I was glad to see Theodore and Hester both heavily involved in the investigation part of this story.  I'm glad to see them give Hester something to do.

Also some interesting movement on the witchy front, with the obtaining of the
athame, even if it still bugs me the conflation of the kind of witchcraft they use in the book and pagan ceremonial practices.

And I did find the whodunit a bit interesting, even if Lucy was a bit slow on the uptake about the
actor guy portraying the alleged producer

I'd probably give this a three like most of the others in this series if it wasn't for all of the nonsense with Silvia, and how often it was belabored upon.

Interesting.
I can't believe that Sylvia would treat Lucy like this after all this time but here we are. Rafe makes my heart flutter
