This was trying so hard to be Beach Read and it didn't especially because the author literally CUT OUT THE ONE AND PROBABLY ONLY SEX SCENE. NO JOKE. LIKE HE TOOK ME INTO THE BEDROOM THEN CHAPTER 29 I WOKE UP TO.... LIKE WHAT THE EFF??????????? HOW IS THIS ADULT? If writing sex isn't your thing that's fine but don't call this adult then barely talk about adult content. I just genuinely felt like this book was forcing too much like the love story and relationships but then it had no leverage or back bone.

I really enjoyed No Judgement, the first book in Meg Cabot’s Little Bridge Island series. It was my first Meg Cabot book (practically a crime, yes I know), and so I assumed that I would enjoy the rest of the series and her writing in general. I was clearly wrong, as I did not enjoy No Offense (I gave it a 2-star rating because I finished it, despite the aggressive lack of chemistry between the two main characters). I am more than willing to give authors second chances though, especially if I have liked some of their other works, so I went into No Words with high hopes. I love romances about authors, and when you add in some enemies to lovers tension you can have an amazing story on your hands. Emily Henry certainly crushed it in Beach Read, which has a similar concept. This book however, was painful to get through, as the female main character was cringeworthy that almost everything that came out of their mouth made me wince. The secondhand embarrassment got to be too much for me to handle, along with the awful cat puns, and I finally decided to put this one down. If you really enjoy Cabot’s adult romance writing, I encourage you to give this one a chance-- you might like it. But, if you are looking to start a new series, maybe check out some other options. I personally think Cabot should have stopped at YA romance.

It's a quick read and a decent romance. The second book was probably a little bit better, tbh.
