Feeling nostalgic so read some Strangers. The out-dated pop culture references aside, man does this comic stand the test of time. Solid story telling, great art. Ah to make such a thing myself...

Man, Betty and Veronica sure are different than I remember them as a kid. I thought this collection was so good, truly. Very nostalgic and totally my style. I’m going to try and get my hands on the rest very soon!

When I picked this series up, I didn't expect to love it. I really didn't expect to be in the comic book shop the next day buying every SIP issue I hadn't read.

With characters who have somewhat cheesy names like "Katchoo," and drawn in a somewhat cute manner, I expected to have another example of the kind of ridiculously ignorant objectification of women/ essentialization of women that one finds in many of the other books. One might even call it a comic book REQUIREMENT. But then I met Tambi, and Bambi, et al, and Freddie....what a great storyline, at least in the beginning before David gets religion...and perhaps I can re-read even those issues with a more open mind. Highly recommended, if only for the gorgeous artwork.

I've read this collection numerous times. This time around I saw some things differently. Instead of rooting for Katchoo, Francine, and David, I felt they were angry, neurotic, and needy. While I didn't LIKE Freddie, I understood some of his argument against Francine. The writing seemed a bit one-sided towards the women. Terry Moore's art was a bit rougher than what I know he becomes later, but it is still damn good. One of my favorite series nonetheless.

It's kind of silly that I have never read a Terry Moore comic until now. I don't know why. It was always something I knew I should look into but just never got around to.

For some odd reason, tonight, on a whim, I decided it was time. I don't know why; perhaps its because I have a banger of a head cold going on right now and in my fevered state of not being able to find anything to hold my attention I figured maybe this would occupy some time.

And it did. I read the whole thing from front to back and I friggen loved it! I loved the characters and I want to know more about them now. Also, Terry Moore's line art was incredible and by the 3rd page, I knew that I was going to read this entire series.

The good news is...there's a shit ton of it. So maybe it's a good thing that I've waited this long? Now I can binge. :)

The dialog among the characters felt so organic and real. The art is absolutely stunning. The story is simple but so compelling.
