I can see why this is a classic. Full of teachable moments, especially the ending. But OMG it took so long to get there! I know that’s part of the telling of the tale, but the monotony, the monotony!!! Nonetheless, I would still reread it because it is a profoundly layered book.

The audiobook did not help me get past the religious overtones and graphic animal harm. When you are not bored and being preached at you are being slapped in the face with some cruelty towards animals.

I tried so hard and yet I longed for the tiger to eat Pi's face so the misery would end. This book is wildly not for me. I cannot stand the animal violence and casual cruelty. I found the religious overtones frustrating. This is a book that was not meant for me and spent way too many years on my TBR.

Finally had the time to read this book. It is a good read and one that ends in question.

I really liked it. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I never wanted to put it down. Pretty slow in the beginning so you kind of have to bear with it but, it’s crucial background and character building. It is essential to the book. I really enjoyed it :)
