Bk 1, Shanna and Roman. I didn't get to read these in order, but it wasn't too bad. Again, funny and cute, and by the time you get through all of the books, the main characters really come across as family (and much more interesting ones then ones own! LOL!

God's blood, this sucked.

This was a shitshow. I was hoping for a campy good time, but it didn't even deliver on that. It had its moments of doing something interesting, but then it immediately fell into cringe-worthy territory. I should not have finished this.

I read this after a recommendation from a friend. I haven’t read a vampire romance in years, and it’s quite different from ones I would typically read. This was more of a lighthearted, cheesy, funny read, rather than anything to take seriously and get really invested in.

I liked the mix of characters and the storyline. Had it been more fleshed out it could have been a really great book, it definitely had potential. It kind of reminded me of a spoof, like the Scary Movie films, where you don’t take anything too seriously and enjoy it for what it is.

If I loathe a book, whether or not I'm able to finish it, it gets an F. If I manage to finish it, but I don't like it at all, it's usually getting a D. This book had me a bit interested and made me smile a few times, so for that I'm bumping it up to a C-. But make no mistake, this was an awful book. Just horrible! Nothing about it is good. I don't even want to start enumerating on the stupid things that happen because then I'd be here all day. So yeah. Don't read this book. It's stupid.

(3'5) Listened on audiobook, narrated by Suzanne Cypress

This was a ride.

I don't even remember how I came across this book because no one I follow has read it recently, but I decided to give it a try. I don't regret it, even though it was absolutely bonkers.

The book overall is not bad, and I actually really liked Shana and Roman. Even though their chemistry is a bit forced and he's declaring his love 24 hours after meeting her, they made a cute couple and a pretty badass at that. Also, the secondary characters were very loveable, and I cared about them, which doesn't usually happen with paranormal romances.

One of the things I liked the most was Roman's inner conflict; he was a monk in the Middle Ages when he was turned, so his religion and his existence clashed constantly, something that made him constantly miserable.

What happens is that around the 60% mark the author decides to add the cringiest and craziest thing they could imagine: telepathic sex. The first smut scene in this book is done telepathically, which each mc just chilling in their bedroom and having brain sex. It was WEIRD, but kind of interesting at the same time. I wonder how they came up with that concept. There were a few weird chapters after that, but nothing that topped the telepathic sex. Honestly, I would recommend this book just because of that scene.

The "villain" conflict resolution is rushed and poorly written, but I appreciate it; if the book was 50 pages longer I would've torn something apart.

I'm giving it a pretty high rating because the writing was good, and the characters felt believable to me. Now, I don't know if that's my perception solely because the audiobook narrator did a great job and made sure to use different voices for every character.

Roman lost his fang and if he can't get a dentist to implant it by morning, he'll be forever lopsided. Shanna is a dentist who can't handle the sight of blood, oh, and is being hunted by Russian mobsters/vampires. Lots of fun, great characters. Would love to read another episode.

Honstly it started off really good, but the last 25% of the book felt rushed and clunky.

I loved this book. Read this book a while ago but had forgotten what a great funny vampire series it is.

The story follows Shaunna and Roman. Roman is a coven leader who comes across Shaunna who is in witness protection. He saves Shaunna and trys and save her from the vampire that is after her. With romance, humour and sword fighting its a great read. Cannot wait to continue in the series.
