The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty

I absolutely loved this book.

I really liked how the characters were introduced and how they were connected. I loved the tangle of emotions from all the families involved and I could definitely identify with some of them.

This is an engrossing read, where, for me, everything came together. Not every question has an answer and as people we have to muddle through the best we can even though we feel that is not nearly good enough - even though sometimes it is all we can do.

I am off to source other works by this talented writer.

I absolutely loved this book. I read What Alice Forgot a while ago - another of Liane Moriarty's. I didn't particularly like or hate it. It was so-so. I decided to give her another go because lots of people had been recommending The Husband's Secret. I am so glad I did. I was addicted from the start. The Epilogue was wonderful. I'm so mad it's finished.

You just never know how one secret can affect so many people... and how one minor adjustment could have things playing out so very differently. I really enjoyed the end of the book where the author wrote about what the characters will never know and what might have been. I liked how the story wasn't just about the husband and his family but about a few other families/people and then you saw how they were connected. Well written and narrated.

So overwrought, it felt like I was reading a soap opera.

It took me awhile to get into this book. The chapters go back and forth between unrelated characters and it was hard to care or keep up with all of them for the first part of the book. However, at some point, I became really interested in the characters (some more than others). So the second part of the book is much better than the first.
