Book Review: Splintered Stars by Rachel Madbury ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I LOVED this book. It was a cute love story with the fantasy aspect. This was a new type of fantasy book than I have read before. It was just such a great book and it is part of a series, so I have already pre-ordered the new book because I can’t wait to see what happens next! #bookreview #bookrecommendations #bookrecommendation #bookishbounds #booksofinstagram #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #readersofinstagram #fantasy #romance #witches #love #power #goodreads #goodreadschallenge2021

Awesome new PNR read!

Haley is blindsided when her sister is kidnapped right in front of her and a mysterious man saves her instead of Penny! He even knows her name - how is this possible? She's never met him before and yet he seems to know all about her.

Lucas was assigned to protect Haley and from a distance but when he sister is taken by demons and Haley is completely in the dark about who she is it's up to him to help her see.

But can they survive both the demons and the growing attraction that just may very well swallow them whole?

This was so good ! Full of magic and found family and forbidden love! Going straight into book 2!!

I absolutely loved this book. It was so engaging and the storyline was one of the best laid out plots I’ve read in a while. I don’t know about anyone else but when I read, I tend to find holes in the plot of the story and it can consume me. That was not the case here. I couldn’t find a single plot hole, the story was complete and while it ended on a cliffhanger, it wasn’t a “this pisses me off,” kind of cliffhanger.
There was some spice too! For those who are new to romance, what I liked is this doesn’t smack you in the face with the spice. This eases you in with a slow burn that is almost painful, but when the time arises, it’s perfectly planned.

I cannot wait to begin on book 2. This story is becoming a favourite.

Stayed up waaaay to late finishing Splintered Stars! I’m hooked & will absolutely be following along this new series! I love a book written from multiple POV & enjoyed the back & forth between Haley & Lucas. The banter is great & I love how we slowly learn more about all of the characters & the world (both are well developed). With the cliffhanger of an epilogue I cannot wait for book two to come out. If you like modern witchy books, medium burns, & a healthy dose of danger this book’s for you!

I think this series has a lot of potential. I enjoyed this initial set up and the prequel set a century or so before.

This series focuses on The Sevens an elite group of warriors sworn to protect witches above all else, but what happens when love complicates things, do priorities change?

Splintered stars is a great introduction to this new world, Haley doesn't know she's a witch and a powerful one at that. This works well as a starter story because it allows the reader to discover the magical world alongside Haley, everything is new to her and this means it can be explained clearly to the reader as she discovers her history and abilities.

Lucas is one of the warriors and he helps her in her introduction to magic, obviously there are some non magical sparks between them and a hot and forbidden romance begins.

I'm looking forward to more from this series, and I am guessing the next book will feature Haley's sister. I think as the series progresses it will improve even more the further we get into the Demons vs. Witches war.

I usually hate romance stories but am a lot more open when there’s supernatural elements so I wasn’t sure how I would find this book! Well, it was great! I literally sat and read it in one go and then read the prequel straight after! It had so much going for it and although the romance was a big part of the story, there was so much going on that it didn’t take over the entire storyline! There are so many unanswered questions and I can’t wait for the rest in the series to find out what happens!! Would definitely recommend this book!!

I received an advance review copy for free (thank you, Book Sirens), and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book was so good. It had me hooked within the first 20 pages. The only thing that kept me reading it in one sitting was the fact that I had to wake up for work.

Watching Haley, the most powerful witch ever born, learn about her powers, fight demons, and protect her friends was incredible. She's just a badass. I love strong, ambitious female leads and Haley was just that. Haley's journey to finding her true self through her magic, romance, and passion is so absorbing. I am excited to see what the next book brings for her (as well as for the other characters we met).

This book was the perfect mixture of romance, friendship, magic, and action. There was never a seen that bored me. I was always completely sucked in by the love, intrigued by the supernatural, or stressed by the action. From start to finish I was all-in: I screamed, I laughed, I blushed, and I cried.

Individually, and as a group, all the characters are incredible. The two main characters, Lucas and Haley, have a connection from the start. Watching their affection, and semi-forbidden love, blossom was so fun. Lucas is a part of the Seven. I loved meeting and learning about the other members of the Seven: Finch, Jack Asher, and Whit. I couldn't get enough of the connection and ease at which they protect, serve, and simply love one another. I don't have the words to describe how extraordinary the Sevens are or how perfectly Haley meshed.

Not to be dramatic, but I don't know how I can wait for the next book. It didn't even end on a cliff hanger, but I NEED MORE.
