Wonder allows you to meet August (Auggie) Pullman, whose medical condition(s) make him look different from other children. As he enters school, 5th grade or Year 6, for the first time, there are MANY incredibly harmful and unjust stereotypes he has to overcome. Every time (even though he has every right not to), he walks through the issues with grace. His family feel very precious as well and I appreciated that everyone’s narratives were able to be read 🥹
Initially I was VERY ready to dislike Jack, but I obviously changed my mind. Summer and Tushman were great ✨
I know some of the grownups use this as a story to discuss differences and disabilities. Truly a brilliant book ❤️
