DNF 74% I hate to dnf a book but I was forcing myself to read each page. This one wasn’t for me. There were some parts that made me chuckle but the story was just too ridiculous for my taste.

This isn't the books fault I just didn't realise this was a gay romance and I wasn't in the mood for it.
The writing is fine the characters are also OK just wasn't what I was personally looking for when I started this last night.

3,25 (?) stars from me. It wasn’t deep or very well written. I felt like a lot of things, including feelings, were oversimplified. But it wasn’t bad. It was an easy read And it is addicting. I didn’t want to read second book. But now… I don’t know. Maybe my curiosity will make me.

Delightful

Tropes: omegas, shapeshifters, hidden society, knotting, egg laying, fated mates

This mm contemporary paranormal romance was just a delight to read. The very few and minor typos did not distract me from the story at all. Nate and Alistair are our protagonists, thrown together by a fateful yet satisfying one night stand. Their fledgling relationship was well written, and I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.

I'm not new to omegaverse, but this was my first time reading an omegaverse world with shifters and I really enjoyed it! I especially loved the combination of serious and silly elements. It's set in an oppressive society with strict rules around reproduction and mating. But the humor and characters bring a lot of levity to the story. I also think it's neat that, even though this is an omegaverse, the existence of dragons is still a secret. So it's a fantastical surprise for Nate when he finds out, and the reader gets to learn about the dragons alongside him. The romance between Nate and Alistair doesn't really stand out and is kind of underwhelming compared to everything else (like the worldbuilding and side characters). But this was still a great listen that I would recommend!

ENDNOTES: MM paranormal romance, omegaverse, dragon shifters, bonded mates, mpreg (eggpreg), hookup/one-night-stand, accidental pregnancy, possessive (you are mine), 3rd-person dual POV, short novel (67k words), whispersync KU/audio
