Sooooo. It had me pretty hooked at the beginning but then when
they started talking about raping a 14 year old girl and rubbing that fact in the other men's faces......
yes it absolutely turned me off of the book. I can handle a lot things when it comes to disturbing books, but that topic I definitely move away from.

Disturbing and fascinating to read. It does not go into a lot of detail about many aspects leaving you uncomfortable and confused but still wanting to get to the end to see what Marcos does

This was the most f’ed up book I’ve ever read. Five stars for that alone.

Full of intriguing, meaningful choices to think about and discuss. The book is short and rather blunt, so nearly every aspect of it feels calculated and purposeful. Very grotesque in its descriptions; perhaps more grotesque is the antipathy with which those descriptions are given. I think the real horror of this work lies in its function as a warped, funhouse-mirror reflection of some of the worst aspects of our current world, which all the best horror achieves. Highly recommend!

Repulsive, horrifying, and deeply thought provoking. An unflinching examination at humans’ propensity for consumption, power and control, and violence.
