This book was ok, had shifters and even some mention of vamps plus spice. The plot moved ok and has set up well for the next in the series, however not my cup of tea and not sure I will listen to the rest. I rated this average as it wasn’t bad, just not my taste.

I think that the best course of action for this one is to go into it blind and with no expectations because that's what I did and ended up really enjoying it.
I was very impressed with the world building! I wasn't expecting to like it so much, it was very relatable (for some reason) and detailed! it left me curious and wanting to know more, which is why I'll probably pick up the next one.
the story itself was very intertaining and I really enjoyed the ending, how open it was and how it set up the rest of the series, very smart.
regarding the romance… it was ok. kind of what you'd expect going into a book like this one. it wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad and it did what it needed to do while I was reading.

Interesting concept, plot is an interesting concept of post-apocalyptic vibes (think: the 100), the main character and his role draws from the Witcher, but with overlying fantasy aspects which add an interesting complexity.

dnf at 81% the couple got together way to early for me and the rest of the book was just boring to me, I’m not a fantasy girl

The plot has potential. The writing is simple and the author could have improved the book by digging more into the internal workings of the character's minds and emotions. She tells a story and she should be working harder to describe it. Enjoyable and quick book.

This book was sooooo good. I loved Clarke and Rush dynamic together. Individually they were very interesting and I like reading about their past. I like how protective their were of each other even when they hated one another. I think my favorite part was Rush stepping in to protect Clarke. I also liked when he listened to her about her past and didn’t judge her for the choices she made. I can’t wait to read the second book!!!!
