This book would have been a higher rating from me but the opening was a bit lackluster and I hated the climax of the story being a very easily resolved misunderstanding.

I always find it interesting when a book can successfully combine romance and steamy sex scenes with serious topics like (in this case) an abusive ex and concussions in the NFL. This one succeeded.

This was definitely a cute and fun pick me up after reading a very tense book prior.
Focusing on modern romance through dating apps with poc characters and a stranger/enemies to lovers & second chance romance. With a little bit of spice! (;
I enjoyed seeing the romance build and I enjoyed seeing situations that call to having difficulties wanting a successful career versus wanting to commit and focus on someone romantically. While also seeing the impact previous relationships and situations has caused on people and how it affects their mindset entering new relationships.
I definitely laughed at things Rhi and Lakshmi discussed and loved the way Samson cared deeply for family and loved ones. It was wholesome.
So, I would pick this book up if you want a pick me up book thats fun, chemically intense, and hopeful.

I enjoyed this so much I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. Rhi and Samson are so fucking cute.

My biggest dislikes were the way that others treated them. For example
Trevor had no right to ask Samson for help after how he treated him. Fuck him. I also didn't like how Annabelle gave Trevor Samson's number cause she had no right and knew what he had done. I like that Samson demanded an apology though.

Peter can kick fucking rocks.

I was not a fan of the third act break up. They were doing so well with communicating their needs and whatnot. And I hate how Rhiannon is like "my ex fucked me over therefore I can never trust and be in a relationship again" I know it's a common trope but I hate it
I also didn't love the "his dick is pretty" thing. Dicks aren't pretty. Ever

Other than that, I loved it. One of my favorite parts was
Samson sending food to her and her employees for a week. I also really love her relationship with her brother

Would definitely recommend and I will be continuing the series.

This was stupidly sweet and surprisingly spicy! Both characters had well developed personal story lines in addition to their romantic one and the characters are diverse. I love a dude who pines, makes intentions clear, and puts the ball in the woman’s court and I love a strong woman who doesn’t compromise her goals. It was sometimes hard to tell when brief flashbacks end or when internal monologue ended and dialogue started in the audiobook. Overall really enjoyed this on audio!!
