First Thought when Finished: Dead Heat by Paticia Briggs was another amazing entry in the Alpha & Omega Series.

Overall Thoughts: Charles and Anna are my favorite couple (yes they beat Mercy and Adam). I like the maturity and growth of their relationship over the series. Not to beat a drum but I like that it is a grown ass relationship with bumps, communication, and compromise. The story was strong too. I liked all the twists, turns, and continuation of the world. The only thing will be the wait!

Audio Thoughts:
Narrated By Holter Graham / Length: 11 hrs and 25 mins

Holter is one of my favorite narrators and he really nails this series. It does take a bit to warm up to Anna's voice but by book 4 I love it :)

I listened to this one and found myself completely transported. It was in my dreams and subconscious. I often found myself having to shake myself out of the book and into reality. Briggs wove such an amazing tale with the perfect villain that made me rejoice with its death. Must read!!

It was short and sweet, to the point, but not my favorite story.

I'd forgotten just how much I loved this series. Anna and Charles are so much fun to follow as they do their thing solving mysteries and hunting things (they are essentially the Winchester brothers of the UF world).

In Dead Heat they visit an old friend of Charles' and end up in the middle of a fae mystery.
This has probably been my favourite of the series so far because it manages to combine Charles' past with the shifters' present day problems and at the same time addresses their potential future. It's also got a great deal of supernatural drama for good measure.

The mystery was great with there being many clues along the way but not immediately obvious as to just how everything will play out in the end. I liked the new characters we were introduced to and I can see them popping up again somewhere in Briggs' Mercy/A&O universe. They are too good to say goodbye to after only one story.

There was great overall story progression with us seeing how the humans are dealing with the great Fae reveal as well as personal growth for both Charles and Anna. I'm so excited to see what is going to happen next! I love these two and adore them more with each book I read. I also was happy to see just how they managed with barely any Bran interaction.

So glad to see the next book has been released already because I can't wait to get stuck into it. This is one of my all time favourite UF series and I can't see that changing any time soon

Another great edition to this series, I highly enjoy the storylines with Fae elements so this was a winner for me. This one deals with child death so it's definitely a heavy topic, but the way the story flowed worked really well. The balance between Anna and Charles relationship and the relationships built with the other characters were different than what we have seen before and getting glimpses into Charles past  for Anna to understand the man he is now was done extremely well.
My one flaw was the copious amounts of horse talk in this, I know it had a big part in the plot with the setting but it was a lot for a non-horse person.

Love these books. I'm always sad when they are done.

With this one, though, I was just a touch disappointed as I knew who the bad guy was the moment they were introduced. Still, it did not deter my enjoyment of the book :)
