Another great volume! This one simultaneously felt a bit faster and slower since there weren't events that were quite as intense as the last volume but we covered a longer period of time (with small time skips). It was so great getting to see Maomao back in the Inner Palace to support Consort Gyokuyo with her pregnancy and to see her finally take Lakan head-on . Can't wait for the next volume!

In "Gao Shun", there is mention of his son who appeared at the end of the previous chapter. He appears out of nowhere and I got him and Gao Shun and Li Shu confused due to the similarity of their wardrobe. I recall now that he was instructed to guide in a previous volume, but the similarity is confusing... The chapter did start to reveal more about Jinshi and his identity. I wonder what kind of medicine he has been taking and what its purpose is. It seems to be keeping him youthful, maybe a testosterone blocker?
And he's posing as Jinshi and claiming he's 24? Is that right? That bit was confusing to me. Gao Shun says his youngest son is the same age as Jinshi, and his son is 19. And he is under the impression he is the Emperor's younger brother.
I am excited that Consort Gyokuyo ispregnant ! Her daughter, the princess, is so cute!
