This was okay. I'm not really into chick lit much, but I like shopping so thought I'd like this. But it drove me nuts. Well, the main character drove me nuts.

Writing a review for the series as a whole: I LOVE this series. It's simply delightful. Fluffy to the nth degree, lighthearted and silly, frivolous and fun. I blew through all 8 books in just a few weeks - they're quick reads. This is a series that could have fallen so flat if it were written by any other author, but Kinsella strikes an amazing balance in her prose. Becky Bloomwood is a dazzling main lead - she's frivolous, vain, materialistic, but she's also tenacious, kind, and incredibly loving. I know this series gets a lot of flack for stereotyping women, but I disagree. Becky is an incredibly strong main character - she has morals and a conscience, and while she might be vain and impressionable, she also always does what's right in the end. This series is also a refreshing change - in the face of the "I'm not like other girls" trope, Becky is unadulteratedly like other girls, and is all the better because of it.

An easy read which made me laugh out loud a few times. I wish we spent more time getting to know the other characters as the book skimmed over the plot quite quickly!

I was really interested in reading this because I love a good series. This one has so many books in the series that I thought it would be fun to pick up. It was just okay. Nothing fantastic, but easy to get lost in.

Shallow, painful to read in the beginning and trite in the end. Sure, the person who never paid attention to anything is suddenly the financial advisor for everyperson. Sure.

Perfect for a fun, light read. It left me smiling and ready too dive into the next book in the series.

This is the type of book you want to read when your brain is hurting from binging on an intensive series. It's light, and bubbly - with Rebecca Bloomwood leading a dramatic, and comical narration.

Highly recommended it to all my gals out there.

Rebecca, or Becky or Bex, has lots of pluck. She also has a bit of an issue with her personal finances, which is incredibly ironic considering her job as a journalist for a finance magazine. Amidst Becky's dodging of her credit card company, she's piling up more and more debt, as well as a few (or more) lies. Also included in the story are some rather fine men, some British lingo, and quite a bit of shopping. All of Becky's antics are marvelously funny as she gets herself stuck in deeper and deeper. This story is really sweet and a rather perfect light read. It is also marvelous for getting in the mood to do some last minute shopping for the holidays!
