I must say that while i loved the easy to understand manor in which this book introduces the teachings of the great philosophers but what let it down for me is it's weak framing narrative that i would often think about skipping through to get to the lessons. However for anyone interested in philosophy this is definately worth a go.

De geschiedenis van de westerse filosofie werd op een begrijpelijke en verhalende manier verteld. De brieven waren slim gedaan en ik was elke keer benieuwd wat er ging komen, maar aan het einde werd het voor mij iets te absurd.

This book is quite dense and is essentially a philosophy textbook with added story but if you take the time to carefully read it you will be introduced to lots of different ideas that have the potential to enrich your life. In addition, despite the slow pace, the mystery is still intriguing, although the ending is a little confusing and leaves room for interpretation.
Side note - this book is translated from Norwegian and the translation can be a little clunky at times but that shouldn't stop you from reading.
