I adored this book! It was so much fun to read and really hit home for me. I love a great main character, who is a strong, intellectual and somewhat stubborn female. It really hit home with me, especially with her struggling socially, with her non-existent relationships and social life. As the story progressed, and her antics led her to the last person she wanted to consider, yet found herself completely drawn to, I found myself really giggling and enjoying the story, whole-heartedly.
The characters are written very well and truly match the personalities and styles the author has given us. As I got to know them, I found myself pulled in to their situations and building relationship, wanting them to be happy and enjoying the ends they would go to, to try work out just what life should be. It all felt very real and the people were flawed, funny and easy to connect with, making the story whole and rather addicting.
I loved the whole premise of the story and really found that the brilliant depth the author put in to both the world and the surrounding people really made the book complete. This meant that I felt connected and truly pulled into the whole book. I definitely found myself staying up way to late, too many times, just so I could see what became of their story, and it was so worth it!
Overall, this is a brilliant rom-com and one I highly recommend.
**I received and arc and chose to provide my honest review.

I liked Esther a lot but I just feel like nothing happened in the whole book. Jonathan was so sweet but I hate everything about his life lol

I really hate DNFing books this far in but the first half of this book really had me interested. I was here for the story the romance and the potential spice. Unfortunately the two MCs got together halfway through which meant the last half of the book was just going to be personal struggles that the mc was going through and I didn't have the energy to go through it with her. Also the spice was fade to black!! What!! All that built up just to skip to the morning! Whack.

First off: wayyyyy too long. The MC complains about the writer writing a manic pixie dream girl, but the love interest is a manic pixie dream boy! It seemed somewhat feminist and progressive, but there were some instances where it was just not. I appreciated the Seattle references, but ugh. Overall I was pretty disappointed. Will I still read the next one? Unfortunately, as I am a masochist.

The word "nice" is such a bland adjective. But it has a lot of power when it comes to gender.
When used to refer to a guy, "nice" is often taken as an insult, indicating some sort of lack: "he's nice, but. . ." Nice guys, after all, finish last.

Intermediate Thermodynamics
Chemistry Lessons, Book 2
I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series.
Media Type: Audiobook
Source: Hoopla via H County Public Library
Dates Read: 2/20/24 - 2/23/24
Stars: 3.5 Stars
Narrator(s): Caitlin Kelly
The Characters:
Esther Abbot
Jonathan
Jenny (BFF), Yemi (coworker)
The Story:
An enemies to lovers romance. I found it to be better than okay but not overly impressive. I just liked everything enough to keep going. Some parts of the story did get a little boring but they passed in a fairly timely manner. Both characters have a fairly complicated family dynamic and a small circle of friends. Esther has to do a lot to conquer her relationship fears.
