Holy hell.

I'm not sure what I just read. It was all witchy and mysterious. I knew it was going to be a ride when I saw all the occult type stuff , like the tarot, spellbooks, and secrets. It was like the movie, The Craft, only better.

I still don't quite know what is happening but I'm going to say that I am all in.

I was so confused. I wasn't sure what the situation was between the serpent and the guys. I know they pledged things to it and it amplified desire for some time. But then what's going on now? They have these orgies (for other people) but they deny themselves. There are Classical elements to the mythology of the ourobouros in this book but I am not sure what role humans play in this. I need more context. It was a lot of Reeve edging what's her face. Less that and more context.

4.5/5 ⭐️s! Miranda Silver has yet again written an INCREDIBLE book, one that completely wraps you up in the story and becomes impossible to put down! Desire the Star is a paranormal RH-ish book filled with magic, spells, tension, PRAISE, secrets and SPICE GALORE. It follows Daisy, Reeve, Nathan, Blake & Evan, students at Pacific Crest University, a school with some freaky, powerful, magical vibes that are getting out of control.
This duet is perfect for those who loved the secret society & sharing aspects of the Ravenhood Trilogy, but wanted MORE group scenes & a less confusing plot. There are still lots of secrets, and Desire the Star does end on a cliffhanger, but I have a feeling these will be resolved in the second book. I cannot wait to finish this duet, I’m sure it will become another favorite of mine, and OMG CAN’T WAIT FOR THE JOINING, WHATEVER THAT IS

Like other reviews mention, you need to go into this book (and eventual duet) blind so I won't give much away.

This world is so intriguing and you won't know what's up or down, or who's good or bad. Daisy finds herself at PCU after a wrist injury ruins her lifelong work at being a flutist. She's completely lost but has hope that she'll find her way back to herself after running into Nathan, her childhood crush and best friend's brother. Except, Nathan's not who he used to be and the life he's living, the people he's living it with are mysterious and all seem connected to Daisy somehow.

This book has magical/paranormal elements, four very different male interests, and Daisy. I was immediately hooked into this world and it's a really well written story. This story centers mainly on one of the men and Daisy and I wish we got to see her with the others a bit more. I was also left with a lot of questions and they kept racking up. Since it's a duet, I knew there was going to be a cliffhanger but there's a bit too many unanswered questions left for me.

All said and done, I'm very, very curious to see how the story pans out and to see who Daisy ends up with.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

First I would like to say thank you so much Miranda Silver for giving me the arc in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! This book is unlike anything I've ever read and I loved every second of it. When I say I went into this knowing nothing I mean I knew nothing and I think it’s best to go in fairly blind.

Desire the star is the first book in the serpentine duet and it's a paranormal romance. After suffering an accident innocent and very curious Daisy moves to a new school where she gets entangled with a group of talented, alluring and extremely mysterious boys. First there's football star Nathan, her best friends brother and first crush. Then their is Sarcastic, beastly piano player Evan. And Blake a sweet, flirty chef. Finally there is dark , dominant businessman, Reeves.

The Magic used in this book is so unique and different from what I've read before, it uses witchcraft, herbal magic and tarot cards. it created such a natural, spiritual, and alluring atmosphere that I couldn't get enough of. Another thing I really loved about this book was the mystery you knew something was going on but you don't know what, so it keeps you guessing and reading for clues.

Each of the characters bring something different to the story and I love everyone of them… well except one but I’m sure I’ll come around in the second book! This is extremely important to me with reverse harem type books, because if they’re not distinct enough I don’t enjoy them, but it was done perfectly.

A focus of this book is desire, sexual desire being a major aspect of this story, so yes the smut is hot!!! There is lots of kink and In some ways this might have been the dirtiest thing I’ve ever read! There is reverse Harem elements so a lot of sharing and voyerism goes on. There’s some great praise and degradation combo and lots more

I honestly Can’t recommend this book enough I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I finished yesterday and I need the next book immediately. Miranda Silvers writes such amazing books and spice this one is right up there with priceless in my favourites list.

hmmm a bit weird.

I felt like scenes were missing. The story didn't flow that well and the conversations between characters were a little weird as it felt like information was missing. I don't know...

Gonna be honest, I don’t know what was happening half of the time. Finished the book and still clueless.
