This book has caused me emotional damage, I know I will think about it forever. It is so beautiful and amazing, but tragic and heart breaking. My emotions were all over the spectrum and jumped frequently. It was so inspiring, it makes you want to be more courageous and strong. I will read again when I am ready.

I've finally read some Kristin Hannah! I really liked this book! From the opening pages, I was sucked in and by the end the book had made me feel a whole range of emotions. However, there was something off with the writing — I think it felt a little flat and stilted for most of it — and some of the plot points felt a tad too contrived or convenient! But, it's an almost 500-page book, I don't recall being bored, and some things really did grab me emotionally, so that counts for a lot!
