I loved part one and other bits here and there. I didn’t care for the book intros, which there were a lot of.

I listened to the audiobook, read by Neil Gaiman himself. The entire experience was delightful and inspiring. Hours of listening to one of the world's greatest living storytellers telling stories about telling stories. What could be better?!

Helt fantastisk når den var bra og ganske uinteressant når den ikke var det.

I'm unsure whether I want to rate nonfiction or not, but if asked to give it a rating then it would be a solid 4 stars based on selection and editorial choices. Most of the work here was fantastic and Gaiman has a wonderful charm that comes through in every piece, however, a few felt self-indulgent and out of place next to Gaiman's truly thought provoking ideas about art, literature, and the value of books/stories.

(3.5 stars) Beautifully written forewords, essays, and speeches by Gaiman, however I wish that the collection was a bit more streamlined. I often felt that once I was done reading one section, it was followed by a very repetitive second essay on the same topic. Gaiman shines when he speaks about libraries, the art of reading and writing, and his love for influential authors like Ray Bradbury. Overall this compilation was solid, but far too long.

Love his ideas and love his voice. This was a win on audio.

I liked so much Gaiman talking about his experiences with books, literature, comics and how they shaped his mind as a person and as an author. Also, this man met so many interesting people and some great authors whom he could call his friends, he was really lucky. Now, thanks to Gaiman, I have an amount of books that I want to read and authors to discover.

Also, in this book, Gaiman gave his view on many topics depending on the event he was asked to write something about it, or the anniversary of a certain book and so on. Sometimes you can even find these on YT.

All in all, this book was really enjoyable to read and I took my time reading each one of his speech for it is not a fiction book but I have to say that I disagreed a lot on his view when it came to Charlie Hebdo.
