A sweet book similar to the ongoing triad in the sense of fears
A vulnerable sweet & love freaked romance

I like reading about all the stories in Fools Gold. They are always light and easy and uplifting.

Here Sam and Dellina start off with a big misunderstanding. Rather than clarifying everthing, they just avoid each other. Its not until they have to plan a party together, that they finally start communicating. Can they sort it all out? Or has the chance passed?

Okay easy read. Lark was hilarious and disconcerting. Enjoyed Sam's backstory and looking forward to Kenny's tale.

I found myself liking the characters and the storyline of this book a bit more than some other Fool’s Gold novels. The introduction of some new characters was also appreciated. The quirkiness of some situations was not so realistic, but nevertheless enjoyable.

I thought I loved Fool's Gold before I definitely want to move there now! This book had me hooked from the very first page! I'm not going to lie when I read the reviews that said you will LOL I was skeptical. However I was proven wrong on many occasions. Sam's parents are hysterical, they definitely added to the book. I have no idea how Susan Mallery came up with their characters but bravo to her! I also loved Sam and Dellina's chemistry and characters. Can't wait for the next book!

Before We Kiss was a romantic comedy of sorts that took me completely by surprise. It started out with a bang and a laugh and it ended with a gigantic wahoo. It was funny, quirky, playful, with just the right amount of seriousness to create tension.

Fool's Gold was such a delightful place! I loved how the town rallied together and supported one another. The length and depth of their compassion were admirable.

Sam and Dellina's story...well, it was so sweet. Dellina was so patient and strong while still showing an air of vulnerability. Sam was likable and kind in his own way but insecure with matters of the heart. When these two came together, it just worked.

Sam's parents were hilarious! They took the cake, stole the show, and everything else. Lol... I loved Sam's reaction to their antics. I know it was uncomfortable for him, but it made for great reading. I'm glad he had Dellina on his side.

Once I got to the end of this book, I finally understood that it was a part of a series. Ha! Of course, that made me sit up. I plan on reading the whole series. It was just that enjoyable.

This book reminded me so much of another book i have read in the past, At Home in Mossy Creek. I love reading about communities where life, love, and relationships happen. Susan Mallery picked up a new fan today.

This book made my heart so happy. Well, it made my heart angry a bit. But then so happy! I think taking a break between books is exactly what I needed to once again fully appreciate how amazing these books are.

And. They also help reinforce my ridiculous expectations when it comes to falling in love. And who can resist that?

Before We Kiss by Susan Mallory
Have read the other books in this very long series and feel that most of the story is playing catch up with the characters.
There is a town where it's run by all women. New charcters come into Fool's Gold and we catch up with the older ones still living there.
Sam Ridge, football star, hasn't made it very well with other females. Delina Hopkins, party planner and helps at the dress shop and she's raised her younger sisters. They had a past life together, 5 months earlier. They talk about that night and move on-he needs her as a party planner, in 4 weeks time.
Parents and their views was a bit much at times, I think the shock factor comes into play for the theme of the book. Book follows many of the other characters in town and their relationships. At times, if you have not followed the book from #1 you'd be lost as to who everybody is.
Story is very predictable, sex scenes are good. Like the ideas of the party and how the animals play a part and charity work.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

I always love going back to Fool's Gold, and this visit was so much fun. I loved Sam, it was nice to have a quiet, somewhat reserved male lead the story. Dellina is just the perfect match for him. All the usual characters were great, and of course the writing is fantastic. Cannot wait for more, I'm especially eager for Kenny's story.

I'm going to say it again. There is a REASON Susan Mallery is one of my FAVORITE Authors!! From disastrous relationships in his past to her having raised her sisters there are obstacles in Sam and Delina's relationship. The one night stand they had months prior, when Sam awoke to a room full of wedding gowns and a "How to get him to propose." list on the wall scared him stupid and he ran away in the night. It takes a huge weekend business party to get them together again! The chemistry between these too is sweet to watch develop! Can't wait for Jack and Larissa's story next!
