I just didn’t like the characters. There were too misogynistic.. it worked well for the story, but made it hard to read for me personally.

This book was recommended by Andrew Boryga, author of Victim, and it was definitely a good read. Some of the people and events felt a bit like caricatures, but enough felt true to reality to overlook the rest. And maybe it is just that way to me and those caricatures are also true? Either way, this was a gritty, realistic look at struggling to make it out of poverty and that sometimes there are good works that come from illegal activities. Huh!
