some of the most beautiful prose ever written about being trans, gay and/or autistic. i felt seen throughout this book, but on a more shallow level. the side characters felt like they were thrown in for diversity’s sake and the pacing was too fast, then too slow. and perhaps i am stupid, but i could not tell you a single thing that happened outside of nick being perfect.

i read the first hundred pages of this in may and i loved it but had to stop because i got too dysphoric, it just wasn’t the right time. I picked it up again this week and finished it cover to cover in three days. i feel like this book was made for me, i’ve never had a piece of media explain how i feel so closely as this book does
