4⭐️ This was so sweet. I love this couple. I’m so glad they face their problem instead of running away. No third breakup act

I'm not sure why, but I just didn't connect with Daisy and Matthew. Maybe it was because Daisy flipped her feelings about him so easily (once she saw him)? And the plot was definitely on the minimal side. But it was still an enjoyable read.

3.5ish? It was probably my least favorite in the series, but it's overall an excellent series so it was still good! I like Daisy a lot. I love bookish heroines. I like that she's short/petite and that Kleypas doesn't resort to describing her as childlike (slightly biased here). Matthew is an interesting character (not as interesting as St. Vincent, but better than Westcliff and Hunt who always felt like the same person to me). I did think the resolution was a bit too neat, but eh, it's a romance.

Fortunately Kleypas has a lot of other books I can read now that I'm done with this series!

Book Riot Challenge: A book with a cover you hate. The cover isn't terrible, I'm just mad that my copy doesn't match the rest of the series. I don't know what the Old Well is doing on the cover and the second-page spread is kind of cringeworthy.
