I really liked this book! I've read another of this author's books "All the Dangerous Things" and while I liked that one better, this one was also good. I will say that I didn't really like the characters too much. They were extremely well written, but the main character really annoyed me and made some really bad decisions as the story went on, and it wasn't really in an "unreliable narrator" way like I would have actually enjoyed. The story was extremely compelling though and I found myself not wanting to put it down.

Wow I had such HIGH expectations for this book as it was rated nearly 5 stars on kindle. This plot moved very slow and I think the writer is AMAZING but the placement of some things was difficult to follow with. Such as the flashbacks within immediate moments. I understand this is to show her thought process but it was overdone making it less of a treat and more of a burden. I think this plot is SUPER predictable! Maybe I’ve cracked the code for thrillers. Anyways, the writing was super detailed and beautiful. But a lot of this was just repetitive at times and dense. For me the level of suspense was a 1/5!

•What did I think of this book?
This was a good read. It shows how we adapt after actions of our childhood. Or react to trama. At 12 years old, Chloe Davis comes face to face with true fear when one of the people who was supposed to protect and love her might be a killer. On the 20th anniversary of the killings and close to her wedding day. Girls start to go missing, and someone is sending a message. But to who?  Some secrets aren't meant to stay buried.

The main girl makes frustrating decisions. The story veered dangerously close to some compelling ideas and thoughts but forgot all about them for the twist-riddled mess of an ending.
