I'm a simple woman with simple tastes...and this hit all of them.

[4.5 stars] This was SO cute! The perfect book to get you out of a reading slump. Felt like I was reading a fanfic at times, but I absolutely did not care - gimme all the fake dating and pining please!

Alright alright, I’ll say it, it was worth the hype. Some parts I wasn’t a fan of but not enough to bring it down a star. Loved this and the fact it’s a Star Wars fan fic makes it better. Read it you won’t be disappointed. I guess I can thank Ashley for the recommendation

When it was good, it was really good. But there were too many times when I was just so irritated with the characters and how much Olive lacked confidence.

Olive Smith is a scientist, she believes in proven facts and concrete evidence. She also believes that all relationships end and she has the proof to back it up. As a graduate student in Stanford's science department, Olive is content to live her life among her lab rats and her research. Enter Adam Carlsen: scientist, professor, and all around ass who makes his grad students cry. It doesn't help that he is hot AF and that Olive can't stop thinking about him after he agrees to fake date her. But, soon, Olive's fake boyfriend is starting to look an awful lot like a real one...and she's pretty okay with that.

Can we please talk about how AMAZING this book is?!?!? Let's start with the absolute best parts: fake dating trope, grump/sunshine, he's an asshole to everyone but her, women in STEM representation, asexuality representation, and, of course, ALLLLLLL the longing looks.

The Love Hypothesis gave me all the feels. The banter between all the characters is top notch. The chemistry (pun totally intended) between Olive and Adam leaves the pages smoldering. And the slow burn of this book...totally worth it!

Love. So much love. Perfect slow burn, chemistry, and awkward fake dating scenarios that I love. No doubt a 5 star read for me.

This one was extremely adorable and I can totally see why it got so much hype.

I absolutely adored Adam throughout the whole book but I wanted to SCREAM at Olive and her insecurities so many times. I wanted her to own how good she was at science and tell Adam she loved him already! But all of that just added to the suspenseful, page-turning aspects. Truly couldn’t put it down!

I loved the steam but which there was more of it! Also-how could you not picture Adam Driver as Adam? It’s just too perfect. I love the enemies to lovers/fake dating/grumpy and happy tropes. Such a fun read!

Such a great read! It has just the right amount of romance and plot/character development, and you get to really know the characters on a deeper level. I appreciate the arc exploring the struggles of being a woman in a male-dominant field like STEM, and I thought it was done in a natural way.

My favorite side characters would be Malcolm and Holden, hands down. Not only were they great friends, but also great people (and great together).

As much as I like this book, I did not fall in love with it as much as others have, hence the 4* (ok, maybe a 4.5*) rating. It has the classics of a fake dating trope and is executed well, but it doesn't bring anything new to the table (aside from STEM content ofc) or anything that sets it apart from fake dating fanfics on the Internet. The smut scenes were also not my favorite and I dragged through them lmao. It doesn't mean that I won't remember a lot about this piece (it is very remarkable and iconic, thank you), but I just thought it wasn't exceptional enough for me. Though it's completely a me-thing.

Still, it's a strong book with lots of commendable points. It definitely lived to the hype for me. Would highly recommend!
