Ridiculous.... I like the characters and book 2 was good, but this story just became more absurd as the story unfolded.

Amos Decker, the man who can’t forget anything, witnesses a murder and suicide in front of the FBI building. The two dead people do not seem to be connected in anyway, and the investigators are baffled. Working with an agent from the Defense Intelligence Agency, Decker and his partner, FBI agent Alex Jamison, dig through history And family relationships to root out the cause for the tragedy. Suspense, espionage, and how relationships work are all included. It could’ve been about 1/3 shorter, as I found that the middle moved pretty slowly.

Even though I wasn't too fond of the series to begin with, Baldacci seems to have found a nice place for Amos Decker, with room for lots of evolution for the character. And he even has a plot/ending that was able to surprise me --even though it looks like he was inspired by that one tv series (which I won't mention because of, well... spoilers). And enjoyable read.

Nowhere near as good as The Memory Man. The plot is mostly rather pedestrian with only occasional flickers of suspense, like the last 24 pages or so.

If you want something easy and not at all challenging, then read this. For me, it was fine. The first two books with character were more enjoyable, I just wasn't overly impressed with the plot of this one. Not that it was bad, it was just.... Fine
