Several shifting POVs made for an interesting multi-generational cast, but the resolution relied heavily on mysticism and in-built symbolism, which got me a little lost. Also, very lyrical, poetical language, a little too flowery for me. I did like the two main kid characters though, and their struggles to be themselves.

Very beautifully written with lots of vivid imagery that sucks you in. The ending got a bit muddled for me which is the only reason I didn't give it a full 5. I'm surprised more people haven't read this.
