This book was better than Book Lovers, but it was a bit of a slog to get through. It was sadder than I was expecting for a summer romance. It was interesting, but I never felt very invested in the characters.

My proudest moment of 2023 so far (one day in) is that it took me until I was 53% finished with Happy Place by Emily Henry to full on sob. The imagery in this novel, the structure between Real Life and past-Places is SO GOOD and helps to move the story along yet keep you engaged every step of the way. I sobbed harder than I have in a long time for so many reasons. This book broke my heart, pieced it back together, to break again (and repeat a couple times). I cannot wait for this story to make its way into the world in April. I truly don’t see how this could be topped for me. Thank you SO much to Berkley for sending me a copy!

Meet my new favorite Emily Henry book! From the found family dynamics, to all of the tension between our main characters, this book absolutely owns me.
You can’t help but route for Wyn and Harriet to get their shit together and realize they are perfect for one another. But I also loved how this book explored relationships in a really raw and vulnerable way. Sometimes people grow apart, sometimes we let our insecurities get the better of us, and that affects our relationships with the people in our lives, and Emily Henry did a really good job, exploring that in this book.
