I absolutely loved it as every other shadowhunters' book BUT I'm giving it 4 stars because Christopher's dead was absolutely unnecessary and im fu sad for him....and also the grieving for him seemed so short as if he was an insignificant side character Cordelia could have saved him if she just used the sword

This book was looooooooooong... I almost didn't finish because my loan was running out. Whew, I made it with 3 hrs to spare.
I'm glad James didn't completely blow his first opportunity to tell Cordelia the truth. That shit was making me crazy. I was sad but not surprised about Matthew's lying in Paris. But the alcoholism plot is irritating to me. Maybe because child of alcoholic? I dunno.
I really wanted to see Grace get a redemption arc and I was pleased that she and Alastair both got their own.
I felt like Billial was tedious and boring. I didn't enjoy him as a bad guy or really believe it. He was just a petulant child who wanted to play with his toys.
